MEMBERS Natalie LaRue Phillip LaRue NEWS February 25, 2006 - LaRue resurfaces with Psalms album The music scene hasn't seen much of erstwhile pop star Philip LaRue since the duo brandishing his surname released its most recent album four years ago, but that will change with the release of The Message: Psalms, an all-star companion album to Eugene Peterson's popular paraphrase of the Bible. CCM magazine's home on the web recently published a short feature story about the album, which includes music from Ginny Owens, Over the Rhine, Chris Rice, Rachael Lampa, and Building 429 and separate songs by Philip and sister Natalie in solo mode. Jeremy Casella also performs, sharing a track with Sandra McCracken and Andrew Osenga. According to the article, Philip got the ball rolling by placing a call to the customer service line at NavPress, which publishes The Message, back in 2004. He eventually got the ear of someone who held sway at the company, and they took to the idea immediately. Notes Dave Urbanski, the article's author, "[T]he fact that NavPress was looking to relaunch The Message with a new verse-numbering system didn’t hurt, either." LaRue co-produced the album with Monroe Jones, a Grammy winner who has worked with Stevie Nicks and Third Day, and the album will be released via Jones' Eb+Flo Records. More info about the album can be found at its official website. - Ben DISCOGRAPHY
