READY TO FLY (2003)
Ready To Fly - Click to view!FFH's latest release, Ready To Fly, hits home and surpasses the expectations of this writer. Offering everything from melodies that boast a simplistic arrangement relying on thought-provoking lyrics to fantastic, rhythmic toe-tappers, Ready To Fly gives FFH's listeners a great collection of contemporary Christian music that is both enjoyable to listen to and eloquently heart-felt.

"You Found Me" is the first song on this CD. This notable blend of vocal trade offs, harmonies, and lyrics combined with an enjoyable rhythm should only elevate FFH's magnetism to their fans, old and new. The lyrics give an awesome view into a life that has tried so many ways to find completeness and happiness, only to find loneliness and desperation. Jeromy Deibler (lead singer/songwriter), very nicely, points out in his lyrics that it is God that rescues the soul. "You found me in the places of my loneliness / You told me there is more than this / You captured me with tenderness / You found me." The words generate a powerful and truthful imagery of God's love toward man and the lengths that He will go to rescue us from ourselves.

The title cut, "Ready To Fly" urges the listener to enter a world where God will lift you above the clouds and gather a new perspective on the world and life in general. Starting with a feathery beginning that builds into a robust blend of voices and instruments, "Ready To Fly" is destined to be a chart climber and a fan favorite. Let's not forget to give Jeromy credit for another excellent job with the lyrics to this song as well. "I've been here grounded far too long / I'm ready to see the open wide / Ready to sing a different song / I've seen my troubles 'long the way / I want to sail towards the sun / I want to turn another page / I'm on my way / I'm ready to fly." "Ready To Fly" mixes inspiring verses with a catchy, easy to remember chorus, giving this song the best of two worlds, radio play and ministry.

Any reference of this CD would be incomplete without a mention of Jennifer Deibler (vocals) and her talents. On "Follow Love," Jennifer blends her melodic vocals against a simple background of piano and light orchestration. "Follow Love" offers the listener a prayer-like opportunity to leave yesterday behind and go "To somewhere I have never been." Through "Follow Love," the listener is encouraged to pay attention to their heart and follow their dreams.

I would definitely suggest this project to the public as a worthy buy. Musically, it has been well developed and is considerably easy and pleasant to listen to. Lyrically, Ready To Fly is an incredible effort that dips, only slightly, as Jeromy's name fades from the songwriting credits. As long as this team continues with this mix of talent, taste and testimony, FFH is "ne ne never gonna be alone" from fans.

Ready To Fly is FFH's fourth release from Essential Records and is also the platform that they will be using for their 2003 fall tour. Joining FFH on this tour will be Big Daddy Weave and Warren Barfield.
