INTERVIEW WITH A PROFESSIONAL RAPPER | OCTOBER 2003
John Reuben, who usually names himself as the only rapper on the punk rock show, finally landed a tour with other urban musicians. We caught up with him during the On Tour Now tour with Mars Ill and Paul Wright. We sat on bench seats taken out of a church van that were sitting in a storage room to ask him some questions about his next disc. Read full interview...

THE BOY VS. THE CYNIC (2005)
It's no longer pure hip-hop, but it's definitely JOhn Reuben. This is the most prolific album yet from this artist as Reuben takes on politics and Christians in one swift blow.

PROFESSIONAL RAPPER (2003)
The recording and producing of one's own musical endeavors can be something of a two-edged sword. On the plus side, the autonomy it affords often spurs an artist on to new levels of creativity (a la Stevie Wonder's string of landmark, post-Motown albums during the '70s). On the negative end, its pitfalls include the temptation to sacrifice listenability for the sake of experimentation. Read full review...

SOON TO BE IN YOUR COMMUNITY DVD (2003)
The typical "Collector's Series" DVD fare, Soon To Be In Your Community is little more than a DVD single / advertisement for Reuben's release Hindsight. If you're a die-hard fan, however, you'll love this little treat as Reuben does a, uh, different method of commentary on his music video for "Doin'."

HINDSIGHT (2002)
Returning with the much-anticipated sophomore release, Hindsight, John Reuben brings much of what he had on his first album to the table as well as some maturity. Two years gives a man a great chance to learn, and John has certainly done that since his popular debut. Guest appearances from Manchild (of Mars Ill) and Othello (of Logique) add to the great expectations for this disc.

ARE WE THERE YET? (2000)
"I don't set out to be different. It's just what I feel. I listen to a guitar, or hear some real emotional indie-rock or something, and I think it would be cool to lay a thick beat under that dark guitar," explains Christian hip-hop newcomer John Reuben about his writing style. Reuben's first release, Are We There Yet? combines classic hip hop with pop, funky beats, turn tables, and some good old fashioned rock. Read full review...
